Charotar Education Society established on April 1916 is the oldest institution of this region. The registered society was formed by dynamic dedicated educationist and great visionary late Shri Motibhai Amin.He was the pioneer in bringing library movement in Gujarat. Gandhiji aptly called him “Charotar nu moti” means pearl of Charotar area (Charotar is the geographical territory between the rivers the Mahi and the Vatrak) the institution has earned name and fame in the field of education.
During Dandi March Gandhiji stayed for two days 16 – 17 March 1930 in the campus and blessed the pioneer founders. The constitution of the society was written by Shri Vithalbhai Z.Patel who was elder brother of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. Shri V.Z. Patel was chairman from 1921 to 1933 and Shri Ganesh Vasudev Mavlankar was chairman from 1940 to 1954. Darbar Gopaldas, Shri Ambalal Patel, noted social worker Thakkarbapa, Shri Shankarbhai Patel , noted educationist Shri Ishwarbhai J.Patel and Shri Vitthalbhai J.Patel have contributed and blessed this society. As a result of the dedicated efforts of these great leaders, we have established a tradition of creating new courses responding to the needs of the community and in keeping with our national aspirations.
The motto of the society is ‘Uttishthit Jagrat Prapt Varanni Bodhat ( Utho Jago, Dhyeya, Gyan, Bodh Prapti tak Lage Raho – Arise, Awake and Strive till the goal is reached ). Since last 94 years the society is carefully nurtured by illustrious academician as administrators has caused a place of pride for itself on the academic map of Gujarat.

There are three vast campus of education managed by this society. One is in the heart of Anand which owns 22 acres of land. Second campus is in the suburb of Anand near Agriculture University which owns 7 acres of land and the third campus in Mogari village has 12 acres of land. From
 

nursery to P.G. different courses are taught to the students of this area.
The present management council is lead by honorary Secretary Shri Chetanbhai M. Patel young, dynamic and dedicated person with a result oriented team of executive council consists of eminent businessman, lawyers and experienced persons in their respective field of work.

In 1955 Sardar Patel University was established without any government funding and today it is one of the well – known university township in India Shri I.J.Patel B.Ed College was established in 2000 and is affiriated to Sardar Patel University which is 3 Kilometres away from the campus of Vallabh Vidyanagar. Since then, the college has been growing in leaps and bounds.
 

The college , the parent institution and executive council together contribute significantly for a noble cause for qualitative improvement of education and strive to equip the students to face the challenges of 21st century.

Executive Summary

With a pragmatic objective of catering quality education especially to the students from rural areas and downtrodden section of Society Charotar Education Society ( CES ) was established in 1916.Since then the trust has progressed by leaps and bound and is currently managing 10 schools, 5 degree colleges, post graduation departments and 3 primary teacher’s certificate colleges.

Shri Ishwarbhai Jethabhai Patel Bachelor of Education College ( self financed ) has the proud distinction of being the first self financed college in Gujarat established in July 2000 managed by CES and affiliated to Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar which is at a distance of 3kms.

The college is situated in tranquil and serene vast campus of 12 acres at Mogari village which comprises of 2 colleges, schools managed by CES. The college is well connected by transport facilities and easily approachable from rural and urban centers.

The college begun in 2000 with initial intake of 60 seats to produce efficient, dedicated, talented and hardworking teachers. In the year 2003/04 the number of seats rose to 100. This phenomenal rise clearly indicates the commitment of management and faculty which provides an environment of belongingness and democratic work culture. Since last eight years, the college has established a tradition of excellence in the area of teacher education. Through constant innovation in curriculum development, frequent upgradation of its physical and human resources, vibrant student life with a range of co – curricular activities and goal oriented, value based programmes , the college strives constantly to reach new heights of excellence. Though we have faced challenges from time to time, we have successfully overcome them by virtue of our zeal, enthusiastic team work and excellent support from management. We have always stood out as an institution which is sincerely dedicated to education excellence, social responsibility toward under privileged and noble cause of nation building.

Since its inception the institution is lucky to get a team of faculty members who have an exceptional combination of experience and quest, seniority and youth, maturity and dynamism, This led to excellent team work, time management and institution building in a small spell of less than a decade. Numerous academic, co-curricular, extra curricular and social activities are organized on diverse themes and topics, to achieve total human development at our institution. The faculty is ever ready to organize and participate in wide range of seminars, workshop, short term courses organized by stet education department, UGC, NCTE, University and private agencies like Intel etc. It is matter of pride and satisfaction that in less than a decade our 80% faculty will be completing their Ph.D. Programme.
In view of excellent staff and physical facilities, well equipped library, extracurricular activities and a rich tradition of rigorous curricular transaction, we remain a unique college in many aspects
